I often compare children to flower seeds. They are full of potential, waiting to bloom into something beautiful. However, just like a seed, children need the right amount of input to grow and develop.
Giving a seed too little water can hinder its growth, but giving it too much water can also lead to its demise. Similarly, providing children with too little attention and support can result in delays and poor progress, but pushing them too hard and drilling them with excessive work won’t always yield better results.

Children need a specific amount of time to learn new concepts and develop skills, and we need to give them the right amount of support and encouragement during this process. It’s important to remember that ‘more’ isn’t always better.
Similar to a flower seed, each child has their own unique potential waiting to bloom. By getting the right amount of water, sunlight, and compost and being planted in the right soil, it will help it to become the best type of flower it can be, for example, the best rose or the best sunflower. But by giving it more water and more compost, it won’t change the predetermined type of flower it will become. It will always become a sunflower or rose. And the same with children. Just because you do more of a certain thing won’t change their makeup, but it could help them to become the best version of themselves.

Positive reinforcement is crucial in helping children build self-confidence and develop into their best selves. By commending them for trying their best and celebrating their successes, no matter how small, we can help them flourish.
Just like a plant needs sunlight to grow, children need love and positivity to thrive. Let’s give our little seeds the right amount and type of care and attention, so they can blossom into their full potential.
